Nova Money is built to be local-first and private by design. You do not create an account, and the financial information you enter stays on your device. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what that means and the one small piece of information that leaves your device.
Nova Money (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a personal-finance calculator and mutual-fund research app for users in India. You can contact us at support@novamoney.in.
Nova Money has no sign-up, no login, and no KYC. We never ask for or verify your identity. Any name, email, phone number, city, or profession you optionally enter in your profile is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.
Everything you enter to use the calculators and trackers is stored locally on your device in encrypted storage and is never sent off the device. This includes, for example:
Because this data lives only on your device, we cannot see it, access it, or recover it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
Nova Money includes a Mutual Fund Research section. To power it, the app reads publicly available fund information (fund names, categories, NAV history, returns) from our backend. This is a read-only lookup and involves none of your personal data.
If you bookmark a fund, the app sends the following to our backend so we can alert you when that fund’s data changes:
That is the complete list of information Nova Money transmits. If you never bookmark a fund, nothing about your usage leaves your device. Removing a bookmark removes it from our backend.
If you enable notifications, we use them to remind you of scheduled items and to alert you to changes in funds you have bookmarked. Push delivery, where enabled, uses a push token tied to the anonymous device identifier above — never to your identity.
Nova Money contains no advertising and no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not use an advertising identifier. Any in-app usage counters are recorded on your device for debugging only and are never transmitted.
Nova Money is free to use. If we later offer an optional paid subscription (“Nova Money Pro”), purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through our payments provider, RevenueCat. In that case we receive your subscription status (active / expired) and a subscription identifier so we can unlock Pro features — never your card or bank details, which are handled entirely by Apple/Google. RevenueCat’s handling of that data is governed by RevenueCat’s privacy policy. This feature is not active in the current version of the app.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. The only recipients of the limited data described above are our own backend (hosted on Supabase) and, if and when subscriptions are enabled, the app stores and RevenueCat for processing your purchase.
Data stored on your device is encrypted, with the encryption key held in your device’s secure hardware store (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain). The bookmark data on our backend is protected by access controls and is not readable publicly beyond the public fund catalogue.
Nova Money is intended for adults managing their personal finances and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, when subscriptions launch). We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
